5 Signs that tell if you are Expecting or Pregnant

Home pregnancy test helps you know for sure that you are expecting. But there are signs that can give you a heads up even before you pass a pregnancy test. These signs are called early pregnancy symptoms. Many of them are quite similar to those yucky feeling you have right before your period like bloating, fatigue, breast tenderness etc. This makes it all very difficult to look out for the signals of motherhood. Moreover since every woman is different, so are her pregnancy experiences. Not every woman has same pregnancy symptoms. For some even symptom would vary from one pregnancy to the next. So literally there is only one way for sure that you can tell is with pregnancy test. But still we will list down few early symptoms of pregnancy that will tell you if it's time for you to take the pregnancy test.

Tender, swollen breasts - The tingly, sore and full feeling in your breast is one of the first signs of pregnancy. You can blame the two hormones estrogen and progesterone for causing the breast tenderness. The two hormones during this time are working hard to prepare your body for the milk making process.

Fatigue - You may find yourself exhausted as if running a daily marathon without training. The body cranks up to support the baby right from the early stage of pregnancy. You can purely blame pregnancy hormones for your mood swings like feeling tired or upset or emotional. Fatigue is not a sure fire symptom of pregnancy alone, but is surely a common pregnancy symptom. Tiredness is going to wipe you out mostly in your first and third trimester.

Spotting and cramping - Light spotting before you would expect your period is sometimes symptom of early pregnancy. You may observe slight pink or brown-colored stain in your knickers. This happens around five to ten days after conception and is a sign that embryo has implanted itself in to the uterine wall. Many women will also observe abdominal cramping in the first few weeks of their pregnancy. Since only very few women experience implantation bleeding or cramping, you may miss these symptom and still be pregnant.

Nausea and increased sense of smell - Morning sickness is a famous symptom of pregnancy. But then not every woman experiences this. It is because of the increased levels of progesterone hormones. You may observe this when you are about six weeks pregnant. However for few it may start as early as four weeks. Despite the name Morning sickness, it can actually hit you any time of day. You may also develop increased sense of smell making previously mild odors strong and unappealing forcing you to run to nearest bathroom to puke.

Missed Period - This is the most obvious and common symptom of pregnancy. If you have a missed period, probably its time you get a pregnancy test done. However not all missed periods or delayed periods result out of pregnancy. But if pregnancy is a possibility, you should get a pregnancy test.

If you have observed a pregnancy symptom, wait until at least the first day of a missed period. Take advantage of home pregnancy test kits. They are very reliable. If the test shows positive, book an appointment with a gynecology specialist.
