Electrotherapy Muscle Stimulation

What is Electrotherapy (TENS)?

Electrotherapy is designed to be non-invasive and does not involve the use of drugs to relieve pain and numbness throughout your body. "TENS," stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.

How does Electrotherapy work?

The most common ways this method of therapy works, is very simple. The electrical pulses stimulates the body to produce more endorphins, which is a naturally occurring chemical in your brain used for pain killing. Electrotherapy also helps to improve blood circulation to the areas you are applying the electrode pads to.

What kind of pain is Electrotherapy recommended for?

This form of therapy is most effective for Acute pain, which begins suddenly and is usually sharp in quality. As opposed to Chronic pain, which persists longer than 3 months, often despite the fact that an injury has healed.

Note: Do not apply across the chest, introduction of electrical currents to the chest may cause rhythmic disturbances to the heart, which may be lethal.

Can Electrotherapy cure my pain?

This form of therapy is meant for temporary relief and reduction from pain. However, It does not cure the actual cause for that pain.

Is the TENS unit safe for everyone to use?

The TENS unit is meant for use by any adult suffering from muscle or joint pain. It is not meant for children, pregnant women, or anyone that has electronic or metallic devices implanted in their body.

How long will my TENS unit Electrode Pads last?

Depending on how often you use the TENS unit, the life of the pads can vary from 1-3 months on average. With proper care and storage, the longevity will increase.

How do I get new or more Electrode Pads for my TENS unit?

AccuMed® Tens Pads are available for purchase through our website. We recommend that every individual user has their own set of pads to use.

What is the proper way to clean my Electrode Pads?

Please make sure the device is powered-off and the Pads are not connected to the electrode cord anymore. Run cold water over the pads and wash it gently with your fingertips for 10-15 seconds. Do not wipe the pads dry with cloth or towels as this may leave behind residue, let them air-dry. We recommend cleaning the pads after every 10-15 uses to maintain peak performance levels.

How long is the warranty for the TENS unit?

There is a 1-year warranty offered in the United States exclusively by Foscam Digital Technologies.
